Please come in
Ramblecities are cities where one gets lost, yet constantly moves on
Keep moving inside the city
The city has open ends

As urban fragments, Ramblecities appear where settlements were initiated, or could begin, or where a city might disappear. Ramblecities could be placed anywhere, even on skids upon which they could move in a desert. The minimum size of a Ramblecity is 150 to 180 inhabitants. Within the perforated skin, the space expands again along the movements; undulating and contrasting with the dense, rigidly rectangular core. In contact with the ground, the city constructs its own topography and a second landscape.

From a distance you think you know where the building begins and ends - do you really?

The city has open ends. The volume folds back and under, and the windows reflect light like the leaves further down the hill. Ramble units make apartments of different sizes, yet of the same qualities: hovering, expanding in and out, inviting, yet remote, with changing appearances. Inside, you can let your eyes wander and catch sights of the forest, the hills, the grass and the moss-covered stones. Higher up, you can also see the river.

Play along and come again.
